Nokia N95 measures a comfortable 3.8 inches in length, 2.1 inches in width and 0.8 inches in thickness. It weighs 4.2 ounces making it very comfortable to handle and grip. The smart phone has a sleek finish and soft touch but is still fairly robust. The display is a 2.6-inch QVGA TFT which produces image with a coherence of 16 million colors and has a resolution of 320x240pixels.The screen auto adjusts itself to ambient conditions and makes it easy to view images even in some dark conditions. Though the screen is non touch sensitive some users complain that it bears fingerprint marks at times which needs to be wiped out time and again.
Below the display the phone has switches for navigations with four way toggle and center select , various shortcuts for multimedia menu ,clear key, call talk and end buttons ,edit key (used for text mode selection). When the Nokia N95 is opened sideways the media keys are revealed and phone automatically changes to Landscape mode which increases surface area for video visibility .In the same way when the phone is slide upwards the alphanumeric keypads can be accessed .On the left hand side of the phone there is a slot for 3.5mm headset jack for your ear buds coupled along with a microSD expansion slot and an infrared port. In the same way on the contrary side has a volume rocker, camera activation key and a shortcut to photo gallery.
Though Nokia N95 has been an overhyped phone of its era its has few erring points that can be traced like the battery backup is poor as compared to other models, too much of functionality having been clogged together into a single unit has made the unit somewhat slow ,moreover hampered its performance at times. The sliding mechanism provided here is regarded fairly insecure which flaps in and out very easily. Though a few nagging points can criticized this smart 3G phone has performed well in market.
